How to get here

The Norwegian Seabird Centre at Værlandet  is located  an hour's ferry ride to the west  from the community center Askvoll. To get to Askvoll, you can travel by express boat from Bergen, or by express boat to and from the Sognefjord.

Closest airport is Foerde. You can go to Foerde from Oslo and Bergen. If you want to drive car from Oslo it takes about 9 hours. Lots of visitors leave their car behind at the harbour in Askvoll and bring their bicycle on the ferry. You can also rent a bicycle in the two local groceries  at Vaerlandet and Bulandet or by the Gjestehamn at the harbour in Vaerlandet.

If you are sailing your own boat along the coast, the harbour next to the Seabird centre  is really nice. See picture above.
